2nd January 2014

To all of you, first of all we with you all a belated Happy Christmas for 2013 and we wish you all a Very Happy 2014

The second half of December was a rush for both of us, the good news is that all Jan’s health problems were resolved 100% but on the other side of the coin, with Claire being diagnosed with cancer a big surprise to both of us and has yet still to have surgery (originally schedule for mid December 2013) the problem that we encountered was that because we left the camper in Peru, we could not extend it’s stay there. We approached the authorities, alas it was basically a case of ‘no can do’ so we had to resort to plan ‘B’.

So, with the permission of the Medical team back in Dublin, we set off to South America on the 16th December to move the camper to a country with a bit more leeway to store the vehicle for several months while Claire gets herself sorted out.

For the past two weeks, we just travelled during the day and finally reached here in Lobos, Argentina the evening before last. We had one hiccough with the camper in Iquique and finally got it sorted out in Antofagasta and continued on our journey.

We hope to return to Europe and arrive on Saturday 4th January 2014. Time will tell, if this is possible.

All the photographs taken during the past 15-16 days were all from the camper (we did no sightseeing at all) .. I hope to have them uploaded within the next few days.

The main update is this ‘blog post’ advising of the current situation of our trip and on the contacts page, I have uploaded the route that we took from Lima, Peru via Chile to get where we are today.

So, hopefully the next time we update this, we will have more ‘good news’ to report.
