Awaiting the MRI scan

When we returned to Ireland in January, more tests were carried out and now the full plan up to and including surgery has been planned out.

Well finally I have reached today, i.e. less than 10 hours before surgery. It was quite some wait from my own suspicions on the 17th September last till today.

In fairness, we couldn’t confirm my suspicions until I returned back to Europe and decided to seek a second opinion in relation to the spot, once my own doctor saw it, his comment was ‘it was serious’ and then he set the ball rolling by contacting the hospital and getting me into the system and start all the tests. Finally I had the last one this Monday 10th February and was given the go-ahead for the 8-10 hour surgery will be done tomorrow.

I am really glad all the waiting is finally over, although I still am very wary of what is ahead of me both in the immediate aftermath of surgery and of course the medium term recovery period.

So, it will be most likely a longer while before I am updating our blog again, but as soon as I can, I will.
